Dr. Michael Steinberg is Professor and Chief in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Vice-Chair for Research at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and Medical Director of the Rutgers Center for Tobacco Studies. He maintains an active research career in the areas of tobacco treatment interventions, has published over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and conducts studies funded by NCI, NIDA, RWJ Foundation, and the NJ Department of Health. His ongoing efforts include coordination for the 10 New Jersey tobacco Quit centers, and assisting with the SCREEN NJ Lung Screening initiative.

Issues in Tobacco Dependence Treatment
This workshop will examine important issues in tobacco dependence treatment in 2020 including the latest evidence-based treatment practices, treatment resources available in NJ, importance of integrating tobacco treatment in various healthcare and behavioral health settings, and implications of COVID-19 on tobacco control.
